What is a giclée print?
Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay") is a designation for the process of making fine art reproductions from a digital source using an inkjet printer. The term is derived from the French language word "le gicleur" meaning "nozzle", or more specifically "gicler" meaning "to squirt, spurt, or spray." It was originally applied to fine art prints created on Iris printers in a process invented in the early 1990s, but has since become synonymous with any high quality inkjet print.
Image Arts Etc. takes this process even further by using the latest Epson equipment, archival inks, and a variety of acid-free media choices to ensure beautifully detailed and faithful reproductions which will be highly valued by today's customers and appreciated by future generations. First, your art is digitized using our professional, high-resolution scanning equipment. We then check the image for color matching and produce a 1/4 size test image for your approval before proceeding with the print order. Discounted pricing is available for as few as two prints of the same image. However, a major advantage of giclée printing is that artists are able to minimize and control their investment by printing only what they sell - there is no minimum print requirement.
If you're considering reproducing your precious art, trust the professionals at Image Arts Etc. to perfectly capture all the delicate beauty and elegance of your work.
